MAY 51982 <br />I <br />OUTLINE PRESENTATION <br />OF <br />INDIAN RIVER COUNCIL ON AGING <br />BOOK 49 Fr,SE 502 <br />Indian River County Council On Aging (I'RCCOA) desires to <br />make a presentation to the Indian River Board of County <br />Commissioners for the purpose of informing them of plans <br />to establish a Senior Center in Indian River County as <br />follows: <br />1) The need for a Senior Citizen Center' -.facility. <br />2) The proposed purchase of a building facilty <br />to fulfill the need at a cost of approximately <br />$220,000.00 of which amount there may well be - <br />--available �$200,OO-1.00 in federal funding <br />requiring a cash match contribution of 11% or <br />$22,000.00 . <br />3) That Federal funding sources feel that Indian <br />River county has not givL6n the much needed <br />moral support and endorsement to the IRCCOA <br />project, let alone financial assistance; that <br />the other four counties under their area of <br />jurisdiction have p.a.rti*ci,p:ated in funding for <br />4 units in Palm Beach, one each in Martin, <br />- Okeechobee and St. Lucie counties. <br />4) That IRCCOA is not seeking county funds as <br />it is prepared to make the cash match from <br />its own cash on hand,but it does seek full <br />support and whatever help the commisssion <br />can give in the preparation of the land <br />surrounding the building, accessablility <br />and utilities etc. <br />Respectfully submittted <br />Mrs. Poll `4rowell,President <br />Council 0 ging <br />
