MAY 51982 <br />INDIAN RIVER COUNTY LIBRARY ADVISORY BOARD <br />890k 49 <br />Motion was made by Commissioner Lyons, seconded by <br />Commissioner Bird, that the Board adopt Resolution 82-47 <br />providing for the establishment and operation of the Indian <br />River County Library Advisory Board. <br />Discussion ensued regarding "free" services, and the <br />advantages of having such an Advisory Board. <br />Commissioner Lyons referred to Page 3, Item IV, of the <br />proposed resolution, and suggested adding "each January" <br />after the word "annually." <br />After some discussion, the Board agreed to remove the <br />word "free" on Page 1, and that the Advisory Board could <br />adopt by-laws for conducting their own meetings or business. <br />Chairman Lyons amended his Motion to remove the word <br />"free" on Page 1, and add "each January" after "annually" in <br />Item IV. <br />Commissioner Bird amended his second. <br />The Chairman called for the question. It was voted on <br />and carried unanimously. <br />Chairman Scurlock appointed Mary Louise Scheidt, who <br />lives in his District, to the Library Advisory Board. <br />Commissioner Lyons then appointed Dr. Dorothy Saunders. <br />Commissioner Fletcher stated that his appointment was <br />Georgia Lou Allen, P. O. Box 248, Roseland, Florida. He <br />also confirmed Ramona Widman as the City of Sebastian <br />appointee. <br />Commissioner Bird advised that his appointment was <br />Thomas Nason. <br />Commissioner Wodtke commented that he did not have his <br />appointment at the present time. <br />The Board then designated the above mentioned name's as <br />their appointments to the Library Advisory Board. <br />Commissioner Lyons advised that he would arrange to <br />turn over to the Liurary Advisory Board various data that h <br />':ad accumulated. <br />
