After a brief discussion, the Board felt it would also <br />be a good idea to review the current list of lights. <br />Commissioner Fletcher next discussed Item 2 regarding <br />access to Sebastian Elementary School. He advised that a <br />cost analysis was being done regarding the paving of <br />Powerline Road. He continued that the Committee requested <br />that staff be given permission to continue work on <br />right-of-way acquisition of Lateral A. <br />Mr. Davis stated that the County has maintained a <br />portion of that road. <br />Motion was made by Commissioner Fletcher, seconded by <br />Commissioner Lyons, that the Board accept the recommendation <br />of the Transportation Planning Committee -regarding <br />acquisition of voluntary rights-of-way, with the help of the <br />Road & Bridge Department. - <br />Brief discussion followed. <br />The Chairman called for the question. It was voted on <br />and carried unanimously. <br />Commissioner Fletcher referred to Item la regarding <br />Sixteenth Street. He stated that the gas tax money should <br />be used for the project, and improvements on the school <br />property should be borne by the school. <br />Mr. Davis advised that the drop-off point for students <br />is on 17th Avenue; the School Board has ,agreed to do other <br />traffic -related problems internally. <br />On Motion made by Commissioner Lyons, seconded by <br />Commissioner Fletcher, the Board unanimously accepted the <br />recommendation of the Transportation Planning Committee in <br />connection with the 16th Street Project to include the <br />student pick-up and drop-off in front of the school. <br />Commissioner Fletcher referred to Item lb regarding the <br />speed limit. <br />MAY 2 6 1982 saox9 $34 <br />27 <br />
