Vice Chairman Fletcher stated his recollection of the <br />Motion did not include the affirmation of any previous <br />resolution, and that is how he interpreted the wording. <br />Commissioner Lyons commented that this was a moot <br />question. When Vice Chairman Fletcher voted, he voted <br />against it any way, and Commissioner Lyons wondered what he <br />was trying to accomplish. <br />Vice Chairman Fletcher just wanted to make sure what he <br />was actually voting against. <br />Commissioner Bird asked Commissioner Wodtke if the <br />Motion was accurate. <br />Commissioner Wodtke stated he did not recall exactly if <br />the word "affirm" was used, but he did not care if the Vice <br />Chairman wanted to strike the word "affirm." <br />Commissioner Bird believed that the Motion did read <br />very closely to the discussion. It was said that the Board <br />had to affirm, or reconfirm, our position with the Corps of <br />Engineers' plan, and at least take this up to the point of <br />some funding consideration where the Board could make a <br />final decision on it. <br />Commissioner Lyons suggested the matter be run to the <br />end of the road; then the Board could make up its mind. <br />The Recording Secretary checked the tape and the <br />Motion, reviewed in several discussions, was as follows: <br />J U L 7 1982 <br />"MOTION was made by Commissioner Wodtke, SECONDED <br />by Commissioner Bird, that the Board of County <br />Commissioners and the City Council, reaffirm and <br />confirm their position with the Corps of Engineers' <br />plan; and that the Board send letters to the <br />Secretary of the Army and Secretary Watts to ask <br />that they expedite developing a funding formula <br />for the beach restoration project for Indian <br />River County in order for the County to make a <br />5 <br />c 0 ME142015 <br />
