JUL 13 1992 X80 <br />ITEM #4 - Community Development Department - Recommendation <br />to change the Hobart Road node from Industrial <br />to Commercial/Industrial designation. <br />Mr. Challacombe explained that Hobart Landing was <br />located on the east side of U.S. #1 and staff had approved a <br />site plan for Indian Lake Condominiums; therefore, he <br />recommended the change to Commercial/Industrial designation. <br />MOTION was made by Carolyn Eggert, SECONDED <br />by Richard Parent, that the Planning & Zoning <br />Commission recommend to the Board that the <br />Hobart Road node be changed from Industrial <br />to Commercial/Industrial designation. <br />A brief discussion ensued. <br />THE CHAIRMAN CALLED FOR THE QUESTION. It <br />was voted on and carried unanimously. <br />ITEM #5 - Farhat J. Khawaja, M.D. - Request that a two acre <br />parcel fronting on the east side of U.S. #1 and <br />Bay Street be included in the 50 acre Sebastian/ <br />Roseland hospital node. <br />Dr. Farhat J. Khawaja approached the Board and <br />commented that he owned two acres on U.S. #1 and Bay Street <br />and had intended to build professional offices at that <br />location; therefore, he was requesting his property be zoned <br />commercial. <br />Chairman Scurlock noted that they were not here to <br />consider his site plan; that process would come later. <br />Basically, the concern this -evening was to decide the use of <br />the land at that location, the Chairman added. <br />Dr. Khawaja then submitted the following letters of <br />support for his request: <br />
