RIGHT-OF-WAY ACQUISITION - 8TH STREET EXTENSION <br />Assistant Attorney Chris Paull reviewed the following <br />memo: <br />TO:Chairman and Members DATE: June 25, 1982 FILE: <br />of the Board of <br />County Commissioners <br />SUBJECT: 8th Street Extension <br />Right -of -Way Acquisition -- <br />Final Parcel <br />FROM: Christoph J. Paull REFERENCES: <br />Assistant County Attorney <br />This office has received a so called "final offer" from the owner <br />of the third right-of-way parcel necessary to construct the 8th <br />Street extension. As conveyed by Michael O'Haire, attorney, Mr. & <br />Mrs. Lawrence Wright are willing to convey to the County the north <br />30 feet of their parcel for the full depth of 480 feet for a pur- <br />chase price of $43,000.00, plus a $2,000.00 attorney's fee. You <br />will recall that this is the Wright's Steakhouse property down on <br />U. S. #1. <br />As appraised for the County by Peter Armfield, the fair market <br />value of this strip is estimated to be $39,450.00. <br />Recommendation <br />As negotiations have continued on this parcel for quite some time, <br />and when weighed against the certainty of additional costs and <br />attorney's fees via condemnation, it is the opinion of this office <br />that the terms of this offer are reasonable and warrant serious <br />consideration by the Board at this time. <br />Commissioner Fletcher commended Mr. Paull for his <br />efforts on behalf of the County. <br />ON MOTION BY Commissioner Fletcher, SECONDED <br />by Commissioner Lyons, the Board unanimously <br />accepted the recommendation of the Attorney's <br />office set out in the memo dated June 25, 1982, <br />re the offer made by Mr. & Mrs. Lawrence Wright. <br />15 <br />JUL 141982 N.DK <br />50 fAcE 444 <br />9 <br />, <br />15 <br />JUL 141982 N.DK <br />50 fAcE 444 <br />
