Administrative Aide Forlani commented that there were <br />three full packets of agenda material left on the press <br />table and on the day of the meeting,`she takes along 20 to <br />30 agendas for distribution. Mrs. Forlani also pointed out <br />that approximately 35 copies of the agenda are mailed to <br />interested citizens and governmental ,agencies; the <br />interested citizens supply her office with their <br />self-addressed, stamped envelopes. <br />Gary Wheeler, resident of Vero Beach, interjected that <br />the agenda material could be placed on a shelf"or table in <br />the back section of the Commission Chambers. <br />The Board felt this was a good suggestion. <br />JAIL ARCHITECT SELECTION COMMITTEE RECOMMENDATION <br />Commissioner Lyons commented that the Public Safety <br />Committee had agreed with the Jail Architect Selection <br />Committee recommendation; they are now in a position to <br />begin discussions with their first choice, Frizzell & <br />Associates. He further advised that they plan to put <br />together a Mission Statement for the jail, and a statement <br />of functions of the jail, which will be used as instructions <br />for the consultant. Commissioner Lyons noted that the Jail <br />Selection Committee needed the permission of the Board to <br />begin their negotiations with the Architect. <br />MOTION WAS MADE BY Commissioner Lyons, SECONDED <br />by Commissioner Wodtke, that the Board authorize <br />Commissioner Lyons and Public Works Director <br />Davis -'to begin negotiations with Frizzell & <br />Associates, the first choice as the jail <br />architect. <br />Commissioner Lyons further advised that the Sheriff's <br />Department had sent out 35 letters to past customers of <br />Frizzell & Associates.
