Young, DOT District <br />Railroad Coordinator to Jim Davis <br />dated June 28, 1982 ref. 16th Street <br />Crossing <br />DESCRIPTION AND CONDITIONS <br />The State DOT is requesting the County to accept the transfer of the tax <br />funds and maintenance responsibilities for the following Railroad Crossings <br />as a part of the Secondary Road System transfer to the County: <br />1) South Winter Beach Road (Route 590) at the FEC Railroad <br />2) 16th Street at the FEC Railroad <br />To process the transfer, the following is necessary: <br />a) Execution of Florida DOT Railroad Reimbursement Agreement - Grade Crossing <br />and Traffic Control Devices Transfer Agreement. <br />b) Adoption of a Resolution by the Board of County Commissioners substituting <br />Indian River County for the State of Florida DOT in the original DOT Agree- <br />ment with FEC Railroad. <br />Copies of the original DOT -FEC agreements are on file in the County Attorney's <br />office for review. <br />ALTERNATIVES AND ANALYSIS <br />In 1978, the Board approved accepting the responsibility of the above two <br />subject roads and associated railroad crossings. The execution of the subject <br />agreement and resolution are intended to implement the Board's previous action. <br />• There are no known outstanding bills due to the FEC for work performed at <br />these two crossings. <br />RECObINENDATIONS AND FUNDING <br />It is recommended that a motion be made approving the execution by -the <br />Chairman of the subject Agreements and approving the resolutions necessary. <br />There are no funding considerations at this time. There are yearly costs to be <br />paid to the FEC for these crossings, and these fees will be paid by the Depart- <br />ment of Public Works budgeted funds. <br />36 <br />
