Description and Conditions <br />At the June 2, 1982 meeting, the Board approved the purchase of equipment to replace <br />the following: <br />f 1 Brush Chipper <br />1 Pickup Truck <br />1 Crew Cab Truck <br />1 6 Yd. Dump Truck <br />1 12 Yd. Dump Truck <br />Bids were received July 13, 1982 at 11-°00 A.M. for (1) Heavy Duty Brush Chipper. <br />7 Bid Proposals were sent out. Of the 4 <br />2. Alternatives and Analysis <br />Bidders responding, 1 was a "No Bid." <br />The Bid specifications called for 12" or 16" chippers. The low bidder was Highway <br />Equipment & Supply for a 12" Woodchuck in the amount of $12289.00. Chipmore Manu- <br />facturing bid $11280.00 for a 16" with a White Diesel Engine and $12360.00 for a <br />16" with an Avco Diesel Engine. <br />3. Recommendation and Funding <br />It is recommended that the bid be awarded to Chipmore Manufacturing Co. for the <br />larger 16" Chipper with the Avco Diesel Engine, in the amount of $12360.00. <br />There is adequate money in Acct. #102-214-541-66-43 for the purchase of a chipper. <br />MOTION WAS MADE by Commissioner Lyons, SECONDED <br />by Commissioner Fletcher, that the Board <br />accept the recommendation of Carolyn Goodrich, <br />Purchasing Division Manager, to award the bid <br />to the lowest and best bidder, Chipmore <br />Manufacturing Co. for a 16" Chipper, in the <br />amount of $12,360, using funds from Account <br />#102-214-541-66-43. <br />
