Wednesday, August 18 1982 <br />The Board of County Commissioners of Indian River <br />County, Florida, met, in Regular Session at the County <br />Commission Chambers, 1840 25th Street, Vero Beach, Florida, <br />on Wednesday, August 18, 1982, at 8:30 o'clock A.M. Present <br />were Don C. Scurlock, Jr., Chairman; Alfred Grover Fletcher, <br />Vice Chairman; Dick Bird; Patrick B. Lyons; and William C. <br />Wodtke, Jr. Also present were Michael J. Wright, <br />Administrator; L. S. "Tommy" Thomas, Community Services <br />Director; Gary Brandenburg, Attorney to the Board of County <br />Commissioners; Jeffrey K. Barton, Finance Director; and <br />Janice Caldwell, Deputy Clerk. <br />The Chairman called the meeting to order. <br />The Reverend Kevin Strope, Community Church, gave the <br />invocation, and 'Chairman Scurlock led the Pledge of <br />Allegiance to the Flag. <br />ADDITIONS TO AGENDA <br />The Chairman asked if there were any additions to the <br />Agenda. <br />Commissioner Fletcher requested adding an item to <br />discuss having a straw ballot regarding the hospital,- as <br />requested by an organization known as ACT. <br />MOTION WAS MADE by Commissioner Fletcher, SECONDED <br />by Commissioner Lyons, that the Board add an <br />emergency item concerning a request from the -ACT <br />organization to discuss placing the question of a <br />straw ballot, in the November election, regarding <br />the hospital. <br />Commissioner Bird noted that he planned to vote against <br />the Motion as it could be added to the Agenda in September; <br />he did not see the emergency nature. <br />AUG 181982 rOK Mr U� �, <br />
