Frank Zorc, 20th Avenue, suggested having two bond <br />issues: $3 million bond issue to buy land, and $2 million <br />to develop. <br />Commissioner Lyons proposed AN AMENDMENT TO <br />THE MOTION, SECONDED by Commissioner Fletcher, <br />that the Board approve a bond referendum not <br />to exceed $5 million, principal amount of <br />general obligation, for the purpose of acquiring <br />beachfront -land -for recreational purposes. <br />Lengthy debate followed. <br />THE CHAIRMAN CALLED FOR THE QUESTION TO THE <br />AMENDMENT TO THE MOTION. It was voted on <br />and carried with a vote of 3 to 2, with <br />Commissioners Bird and Wodtke voting in <br />opposition. <br />Commissioner Bird felt the Board was not presenting a <br />complete package to_the people. <br />THE CHAIRMAN CALLED.FOR THE QUESTION ON THE <br />ORIGINAL MOTION, AS AMENDED. It was voted <br />on and carried with a vote of 4 to 1, with <br />Commissioner Bird voting in opposition. <br />Commissioner Bird promptly CHANGED HIS VOTE <br />TO AN AFFIRMATIVE ONE, as he felt the Board <br />should vote unanimously on this issue. <br />
