8tR 131982 <br />Commissioner Fletcher asked that Mr. Barton give an <br />explanation of non -taxing authorities, and Mr. Barton <br />informed those present that the monies for these various <br />functions come from the state or the federal government and <br />that for none of them would any resident be paying a direct <br />tax on the value of his home or land he owned in the county. <br />It was noted that the Housing Authority fund is a loan. <br />Mr. Barton then announced the proposed budgets for the <br />various non -taxing authorities as follows: <br />Secondary Road Trust Fund $1,291,410 <br />Federal Revenue sharing 351,144 <br />1959 Hospital Bonds 106,657 <br />1980 & 81 Bonds (Renovation) 1,484,887 <br />Housing Authority Fund 70,000 <br />Section 8 Rental Assistance 491,287 <br />Police Academy (Training Fund) 31,485 <br />South I.R. Water Tax District 2,894 <br />(This is a carry-over and accounting <br />for prior tax money.) <br />South County Water Construction 898,930 <br />(Balance on hand to finish present <br />construction.) <br />Special Law Enforcement Fund 13,191 <br />(Confiscated property money) <br />Commissioner Lyons wished to know if we are able to <br />earn interest on all of these funds or just part of them, <br />and Mr. Barton stated.that only on some of them. <br />North County and West County Fire Districts <br />THe proposed budgets for these two districts are as. <br />follows: <br />10 <br />
