He then discussed unemployment, foreclosures, etc., <br />and wished to know just what increased services the citizens <br />will be getting. He felt the citizens should be informed. <br />Roy St. Clair of 2745 47th Avenue, Davilla Park, had <br />complaints about his assessment, which he believed has been <br />raised unfairly in comparison with those in his neighbor- <br />hood, and also about his drainage problems which have <br />existed for years. <br />Commissioner Lyons explained the procedure for dealing <br />with unfair assessments through the Property Appraisal <br />Adjustment Board and suggested that Mr. St. Clair file an <br />appeal. He then wondered if the subdivision where Mr. <br />St. Clair was located had met the subdivision regulations. <br />After further discussion re drainage problems in this <br />particular area, Commissioner Scurlock noted that Mr. <br />St. Clair resides in his District and stated that he will <br />meet with Mr. Davis and see if anything can be done about <br />this drainage problem. <br />Mr. Broxton, land owner in the Gifford and Oslo areas, <br />reported that his taxes have been tripled, and he wondered <br />why since no improvements have been made. <br />Commissioner Bird noted that the assessed value on Mr. <br />Broxton's property has more than doubled, which accounts for <br />the increase in the taxes, and he advised Mr. Broxton to <br />file an appeal with the PAAB since the Commission has <br />lowered the millage and they have no control over assess- <br />ments. <br />Mr. Barton noted that there has been some rezoning in_ <br />the Oslo area and he believed some land has been changing <br />hands which makes the price go up. <br />Bert Hamilton of Flamevine-Lane questioned the <br />
