MOTION WAS MADE by Commissioner Lyons, SECONDED <br />by Commissioner Bird, to approve partial pay- <br />ment to Colkitt Sheet Metal and Air Condition- <br />ing as recommended by Mr. Davis. <br />Some discussion ensued about the amount needed by the <br />contractor and whether or not we should retain 100. <br />Attorney Brandenburg recommended that the 10% be retained. <br />THE CHAIRMAN CALLED FOR THE QUESTION. <br />It was voted on and carried unanimously. <br />GRANT APPLICATION FOR TRAFFIC TECHNICIAN <br />The Board considered the following memo: <br />TO: The Honorable Members of the DATE: September 8, 1982 FILE: <br />Board of County Commissioners <br />THROUGH: Michael Wright, County Administrator <br />SUBJECT: Bureau of Highway Safety <br />Traffic Technician Grant Application <br />for FY 82/83 <br />FROM: James W. Davis, P.E., REFERENCES: <br />Public Works Director <br />DESCRIPTION AMID CONDITIONS <br />Applications are due October 1, 1982, to the Bureau of Highway Safety (BHS) for a <br />FY 1982/83 grant to fund the County's Traffic Technician. The County is elligible to <br />receive $12,000 from the BHS to fund Mike Orr's salary. <br />ALTERNATIVES AND ANALYSIS <br />The Countycan elect to apply for the 82 83 <br />pp y � / grant money or fund the entire <br />Traffic Technician's salary without the grant. The grant conditions are on the <br />',attached application and are the same as last year's. <br />RECOMMF.NDATTONS ANI) T4TKMTMr. _ <br />It is recommended that the County apply for a Bureau of Highway Safety grant in <br />the amount of $12,000. for FY 82/83, that the Chairman of the Board be authorized to <br />sign the project application, and that James W.
