SEP 15 1992' �� . .51 R46t 341 <br />Attorney Block clarified that he was simply asking for <br />the appeal provision, but he wished to present the second <br />letter so the Board could be acquainted with all the facts. <br />Attorney Brandenburg felt the appropriate procedure <br />would be to adjourn the public hearing today -and then <br />proceed with the appeal. He did not feel the Board should, <br />require the Planning & Zoning Commission to have another <br />hearing, which he felt would seta bad precedent. <br />MOTION WAS MADE by Commissioner Lyons, SECONDED <br />by Commissioner Bird, that the public hearing on <br />the Realcor Co. appeal of rezoning denial be <br />adjourned for 60 days. <br />Attorney Block requested that the Board direct the <br />Planning Department to develop standards according to his <br />suggestion, and Commissioner Lyons noted that the <br />Administrator is present at this meeting; he has heard Mr. <br />Block's charges, and will act accordingly. <br />Commissioner Fletcher commented that he was not aware <br />of any political pressure re this matter, and it was his <br />feeling that after all letters of input and expertise are <br />reviewed re projects such as this, that it simply boils down <br />to a question of what impact there will be on people in the <br />future as a result of the location of.this facility. Com- <br />missioner Fletcher asked if Attorney Brandenburg felt the <br />proposed Motion is necessary in order for this Board to make <br />a binding decision. <br />Attorney Brandenburg stated it clearly is not necessary <br />for the Board to postpone the hearing, but they have the <br />discretion to do so, if they wish, so that both staff and <br />the applicant can gather more information. <br />Commissioner Lyons commented that he did not feel any <br />political pressure either, but since it appears the <br />83 <br />
