It was <br />noted that the wording in the newspaper is the wording <br />required by the state. Explanation continued at length <br />about the restrictions involved with accepting the sales tax <br />monies. <br />Chairman Scurlock noted that we did reserve $10,000 for <br />the ALS program with the thought we probably could not <br />implement the program this year because all the pieces were <br />not put together at this time. <br />Mr. Buchanan continued to stress all the services the <br />ambulance squads render the county without asking for <br />anything. <br />Commissioner Bird believed that the Commission does <br />share Mr. Buchanan's excitement and enthusiasm about the <br />medical director, but this is not the eleventh hour - it is <br />closer to midnight, and we cannot extract anything more from <br />the budget. He believed the Board has indicated that if the <br />entities involved can get the program together, then they <br />should come back during the year and the Board can give it <br />more consideration at that time. <br />Chairman Scurlock wished to make sure that it is <br />understood that we have considered this $145,000 request and <br />we could not see fit to cut the other parts of the budget by <br />that much or to change the contingency. <br />Carl Wegener of 3rd Court complained about his personal <br />tax. He stated that he has 4 acres and believed he is being <br />.f <br />taxed too much and he has filed an appeal with the Property <br />15 <br />S EP 2:21982 <br />R 51 PAR 396 <br />
