r <br />SEP 2 21 Box 51 Frig 455' <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Lyons, SECONDED <br />d' <br />by Commissioner Bird, the Board unanimously <br />adopted the budget amendment recommended by <br />the Finance Director for the purpose of <br />providing the needed funds to pay the costs <br />associated with preparation and mailing of <br />the 1982 Trim Notices. <br />PLACEMENT OF BEACH BOND REFERENDUM ON BALLOT <br />Attorney Brandenburg displayed a sample ballot and <br />informed the Board that the Beach Bond Referendum question <br />can be placed either on Column 2 or on the far side of the <br />ballot in Column 10. <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Lyons, SECONDED <br />by Commissioner Fletcher, the Board unani- <br />mously agreed to have the Beach Bond Refer- <br />endum question placed at the bottom of the <br />County questions in Column 2. <br />Considerable discussion followed as to what has been <br />done about educating the public regarding this issue. <br />Commissioner Lyons suggested that the Recreation <br />Committee publicize the bonding issue and acquisition of <br />beachfront property. <br />Commissioner Bird stated if the Board felt this is <br />under the responsibility of the Parks & Recreation <br />Committee, he would be happy to take this project on. <br />Attorney Brandenburg believed the Civic Association has <br />indicated some desire to promote this issue, and <br />Commissioner Lyons stated that he would be glad to ask the <br />cooperation of the Audubon Society also. <br />Administrator Wright noted that if staff is to do this, <br />they need some direction from the Board. <br />74 <br />
