PURCHASING DEFINITIONS <br />2.0 (CONTINUED PURCHASING DEFINITIONS) <br />(The current known requirements of any commodity or <br />service shall not be divided to circumvent the <br />requirements of the Mandatory Bid Amount; however, <br />there is no requirement to aggregate all predicted <br />amounts of any commodity or service for formal <br />bidding. The Purchasing Manager may purchase an <br />annual or alternate quantity of a commodity or <br />service at one time or to enter into an open end <br />contract for annual or alternate requirements, in <br />which gregate -total-exceeds the <br />mandatory bid amount, formal bid procedures shall <br />be used.) <br />39. NEGOTIATIONS FOR PROFESSIONAL SERVICES means the— <br />act—o determining terms, conditions,and 'prices <br />for the performance of professional services. An <br />appropriately appointed negotiation committee shall <br />negotiate with the top ranked candidate from the <br />competitive selection oU--pr-ofessiona-1 servi-ces <br />firms, in an attempt to reach agreement on a <br />contract for the provision of services to the <br />County. <br />40. NON -EXPENDABLE SUPPLIES - means all tangible <br />supplies, unless otherwise designated by the Board, <br />having a value of over $200.00 or more per unit, <br />and a normal life expectancy of one year or more <br />and all other tangible supplies designated as <br />subject to formal inventory control. <br />41--O-PRN-END-CONTRACT - meansa contract whereby an <br />indefinite quantity of supplies, services, or <br />construction are to be procured over an identified <br />time span, as and when needed. This contract has a <br />fixed price to be applied to releases from the <br />governmental entity. <br />42. OPEN-END PURCHASE ORDER - means a purchase order <br />whereby a Vendor provides supplies, services, or <br />construction on demand or on a prescribed schedule, <br />or the fiscal year, or the Bid amount. <br />43. PROCUREMENT - means buying, purchasing, renting, <br />leasing, or otherwise acquiring any supplies, <br />services, or construction.
