"Tommy" Thomas <br />Community Services Div. SU8jEvT: Adoption of Procedures and Zimitations <br />for Hospital Care to Resident Indigent <br />FROM: Janice M. Lindsey REFERENCES: <br />Department Man <br />fe Fare Department <br />This is in response to a request from "Tommy" Thomas, Director of Community <br />Services. It is recommended that the data herein presented be given formal <br />consideration by the County Commissioners. <br />The attached is a copy of the suggested new Procedures and Guidelines to be <br />followed for reimbursement to the Facility for services rendered to Resident <br />Indigent Patient. <br />Purpose: <br />To enable the County Welfare Department to screen each applicant that <br />has requested medical assistance and determine who and who does not warrant <br />the assistance. <br />The Facility that provides medical care for said indigent resident, with <br />these Guidelines to follow the Agent at the Facility will be able to make <br />the initial determination before contacting the Welfare Department. <br />Object: <br />To provide an agreement that is feasible for determining the client and <br />indigent resident, with a conflict between the Facilities Agent and the <br />Welfare Director. <br />Through the utilization of these Guidelines the County Welfare Department <br />will be enabled to maintain the services required by the County residents. <br />Should any member of the Board have any questions regarding the enclosed <br />or desire any additional in -formation, please advise. <br />Your assistance and support of adopting the enclosed will be greatly <br />appreciated. <br />70 <br />W, <br />
