IaVPIv &r a. u.., a+ .— -- L, <br />ment Regulation, when adopted, shall require the connection <br />to a centralized potable water facility, within sixty days of <br />notification. The Utility Department shall enforce the <br />connection. <br />POLICY 6.3: By 1991, the county shall amend local ordinances <br />to require that issuance of permits for replacement or <br />expansion of existing on-site water treatment systems be <br />conditioned upon compliance with the most updated revision of <br />the DER, HRS and SJRWMD regulatory requirements and Federal <br />and- State water quality standards as identified on page 19 - <br />21 of the sub -element. <br />POLICY 6.4: The Utilities Department shall develop and <br />implement inspection, operation and maintenance guidelines <br />or private water treatment plants, utilizing priva a sector <br />sources for implementation. <br />POLICY 6.5: The county, through the County Public Health <br />Unit, Division of Environments Health, shyl este s <br />public -education programs on the proper use, inspection <br />requirements, maintenance, and abandonment of private wells. <br />POLICY 6.6: All new private potable water plants shall be <br />built according to current federal, state and local require- <br />ments.
