Part of this property is <br />environmentally sensitive, and only about 25 acres are <br />developable - the total is 72 acres. <br />Attorney Rene Van de Voorde appeared as agent for the <br />applicant, and offered to answer any questions the Commis- <br />sion might have. <br />Commissioner Lyons wished to have some comment about <br />the drainage_question raised by Mr. Davies. <br />Ms. Johnson stated that, while she could understand Mr. <br />Davies' concern, the land just north of his property is one <br />of the environmentally sensitive areas which basically will <br />be left intact. She further noted that the site plan <br />process has a requirement that the developer retain the <br />first inch of storm water on his property. <br />Mr. Davies pointed out that the environmentally sensi- <br />tive area to the north of him does not extend as far to the <br />west as his property. <br />Commissioner Fletcher commented that survey area <br />"C South" designates 2.52 acres; "D" designates 4.81 acres; <br />but "C North" does not have an acreage designation. <br />Attorney Van De Voorde informed him that the survey <br />which the staff has does show this acreage, and'Ms. Johnson <br />confirmed that "C North" is designated as 13.39 acres. <br />Commissioner Fletcher raised a question as to whether <br />the canals shown are going to be opened up to the river, and <br />Attorney Van de Voorde stated that there are no connecting <br />canals to the river; although, this may be contemplated. <br />Leonard Hatala, owner of the property to the north of <br />the subject property, stated that he would prefer to see <br />76 <br />
