Commissioner Lyons agreed that it is extremely <br />confusing to have two different rates in a department that <br />does the same job, although for different entities. He <br />-emphasized that we are faced with a shortfall, and he felt <br />we should make the rates uniform; then if it turns out they <br />are wrong, it can be settled when the study is completed. <br />Mr. King and Finance Director Barton reported that <br />Peter Robinson, President of Treasure Coast Builders <br />Association, favored the County and City having the same fee <br />structure. <br />The Board continued to debate the pros and cons of the <br />proposed rate increase at length. <br />MOTION WAS 1ADE by Commissioner Lyons, <br />4 <br />SECONDED by Commissioner Wodtke, to adopt <br />a rate structure that would increase our <br />structure by 600, and, in addition, to have <br />a planning inspection fee figured on <br />the same basis as the City of Vero Beach. <br />Argument continued as to the need for a percentage <br />increase plus the addition of a planning.inspection fee. <br />Commissioner Lyons and Commissioner Wodtke agreed to <br />delete the 60% increase and reword their Motion as follows: <br />MOTION WAS -MADE by COMMISSIONER Lyons, SECONDED <br />by Commissioner Wodtke, to incorporate in the <br />County rate structure, a plan inspection fee, <br />using the same method used by the City of Vero <br />Beach, and then get a proposal on the rest of <br />the rate structure. <br />THE CHAIRMAN CHILLED FOR THE QUESTION.
