r N 0 V <br />3 1982 ROOK 5. <br />Sheriff Dobeck commented that it is still necessary to <br />determine if the applicants really know the law for use of <br />the firearm, and Commissioner Lyons noted that the exemption <br />would only eliminate range qualification. <br />In further discussion, it was noted that the Police <br />Benevolence Association as a public service offers a course <br />one weekend a month at no cost. <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner.Bird, SECONDED by <br />Commissioner Fletcher, the Board unanimously <br />adopted Ordinance 82-27 as amended. <br />Administrator Wright wished clarification as to whether <br />all that is necessary is for someone to say that he requires <br />a weapon for self defense, and it was confirmed that was <br />correct. <br />MOTION WAS MADE by Commissioner Fletcher, <br />SECONDED by Commissioner Lyons, to adopt <br />Resolution 82-118, implementing Ordinance <br />82-27. <br />Andrew Offutt inquired about deleting or adding <br />firearms on current pistol permits. <br />Attorney Paull informed him that anyone can delete a <br />weapon at any time; if they choose to substitute a weapon or <br />add one, it is required that they use that weapon on the <br />range.
