This second local option fuel tax is a <br />one to five cent levy upon every net gallon of <br />motor fuel sold in a county. Indian River <br />County can levy this second tax through an <br />ordinance adopted by a majority plus one vote <br />of the Board of County Commissioners or by <br />voter approval in a countywide referendum, <br />but does not currently levy the tax.
