r OEC 11982 <br />{?K52Pf U <br />Commissioner Fletcher believed the drinking age should <br />remain as it was; he thought if a person was old enough to <br />vote and fight, he was old enough to drink. <br />MOTION WAS MADE by Commissioner Lyons, SECONDED <br />by Commissioner Wodtke, that the Board show its <br />approval and support of the resolution of the <br />Indian River Baptist Association. <br />Commissioner Wodtke believed alcohol and driving was a <br />problem and did not feel that the raising of the drinking <br />age would have that much effect on the driving situation. <br />A brief conversation followed in this regard. <br />W <br />THE CHAIRMAN CALLED FOR THE QUESTION. It was <br />voted on and defeated with a vote of 0 to 5. <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Bird, SECONDED by <br />Commissioner Lyons, the Board unanimously agreed <br />to respond to the Indian River Baptist Association, <br />indicating to them that the County would suppott'- <br />the strict enforcement of the legal drinking age <br />in Indian River County. <br />SEBASTIAN VOLUNTEER AMBULANCE SQUAD <br />The Board reviewed the following letter dated <br />November 15, 1982: <br />
