DEC 15 1982 <br />CLEAN INDOOR AIR RESOLUTION - DISCUSSION <br />BOOK 5,2 <br />nut <br />The Board reviewed the following material: <br />TO: Board of DATE: December 3, 1982 FILE: <br />County Commissioners <br />SUBJECT: Agenda Item --Clean Indoor <br />Air Resolution <br />FROM: Gary M. Brandenburg REFERENCES: <br />County Attorney <br />The County Commission received and reviewed a proposal from the <br />Lung Association for the adoption of a Clean Indoor Air Ordinance <br />similar to the one in effect in Palm Beach County at the November <br />17, 1982, Commission meeting. At that time the Commission decided <br />to adopt a resolution calling for voluntary means to improve the <br />quality of indoor air in places members of the public frequently <br />visit. Subsequently, the Lung Association submitted a proposed <br />resolution (a copy attached for your review). I have taken the <br />liberty of redrafting the resolution with some minor modifications, <br />and it is presented for your review today. Representatives of the <br />Lung Association and Tobacco Institute have been given copies of <br />the attached proposal for review. As of the date of this cover <br />letter, I have not received any comment from either group. <br />Respectfully submitted,. <br />. B <br />A gentleman representing the U. S. Tobacco Institute, <br />approached the Board and asked that this item be deferred <br />until some time in January. He then reviewed the following <br />letter regarding the proposed Clean Indoor Air Ordinance: <br />
