ADOPTION OF CLEAN INDOOR AIR RESOLUTION <br />The Board reviewed the proposed resolution just <br />received by a representative of the Tobacco Institute. <br />MOTION WAS MADE by Commissioner Fletcher, <br />SECONDED by Commissioner Bird, that the <br />Board adopt Resolution 82-138, as prepared <br />by the County Attorney, urging the citizens <br />of the County to take voluntary actions <br />to improve the quality of indoor air and <br />preserve the health of County residents. <br />Commissioner Bird referredto the proposed resolution <br />and discussed paragraphs f and g, which referred to <br />restaurants and public meetings. <br />Commissioner Wodtke felt that a resolution on a <br />voluntary basis should be basically enough. <br />The Chairman felt the Board should encourage no smoking <br />and believed it was a positive step,for the Board. <br />MOTION WAS MADE by Commissioner Wodtke, <br />seconded by Commissioner Bird, that the <br />original Motion be amended to remove items <br />f and g from the proposed resolution. <br />THE CHAIRMAN CALLED FOR THE QUESTION ON THE <br />AMENDED MOTION. It was voted on and failed <br />with a vote of 2 to 2; Commissioners Bird <br />and Wodtke voting in favor, and Chairman <br />Scurlock and Commissioner Fletcher voting in <br />opposition. <br />DEC 15 1982 56 � K 2 PArUE 70 <br />
