Transportation expenses represented 15.21 % of <br />all county expenses in FY 2010/11. <br />Economic Environment <br />Included in this category are the costs of providing services which develop and improve the economic <br />condition of the community and its citizens. Up to June 30, 2011, Veteran Services, the Housing <br />Authority, and the Economic Development Division of the Indian River County Chamber of <br />Commerce primarily undertook that function. On July 1, 2011, the Housing Authority was officially <br />separated from the County; consequently, its expenditures are no longer reported here. Table 6.5 <br />shows that $2,099,698 was spent on economic environment services in FY 2010/11.
