ORDINANCE NO. 2012-007 <br />(f) Total solids: The total weight, expressed in ppm or mg/I, of all settleable suspended, or dissolved <br />solids in the wastewater, as determined by 40 CFR Part 136. <br />(B) This part shall be liberally construed to carry out effectively the intent and purpose of this part. <br />Where any provision of Part III of Chapter 201 of The Code refers to or incorporates another provision, <br />statute, rule, regulation, or other authority, this part refers to the most current version, including and <br />incorporating any amendments thereto or renumbering thereof. <br />(C) For the purposes of administration and enforcement of this Part III of Chapter 201 of The Code, <br />unless otherwise stated in this Part III, the following rules of construction shall apply to the text of this <br />division: when not inconsistent with the context, words used in the present tense include the future <br />tense; words in the plural number include the singular; words in the singular number include the plural; <br />the terms "hereof', "hereby", "herein", "hereto", "hereunder" and similar terms refer to this part and <br />this Part III of Chapter 201 of the Code. The word "shall" is always mandatory and not merely <br />discretionary. The definitions set forth in section 201.01 of this chapter are also applicable to this Part <br />III. <br />Section 201.65. Prohibited discharge standards. <br />(A) General prohibitions. No user shall introduce or cause to be introduced into the POTW any <br />pollutant or wastewater that causes pass through or interference. These general prohibitions apply to all <br />users of the POTW whether or not they are subject to categorical pretreatment standards or any other <br />national, state, or local pretreatment standards or requirements. <br />(B) Specific prohibitions. No user shall introduce or cause to be introduced into the POTW the <br />following pollutants, substances, or wastewater: <br />(1) Pollutants that create a fire or explosive hazard in the POTW, including, but not limited to, <br />wastestreams with a closed -cup flashpoint of less than 140 F° (60' C) using the test methods specified in <br />40 CFR 261.21; <br />(2) Wastewater having a pH less than 5.5 or more than 9.5, or otherwise causing corrosive <br />structural damage to the POTW or equipment; <br />(3) Solid or viscous substances in amounts which will cause obstruction of the flow in the POTW <br />resulting in interference; <br />(4) Pollutants, including oxygen -demanding pollutants (B.O.D., etc.), released in a discharge at a <br />flow rate and/or pollutant concentration that, either singly or by interaction with other pollutants, will <br />cause interference with the POTW; <br />Coding: Words/letters/numbers underlined are additions to text; words/letters/numbers in <br />*'0L g; format are deletions to text. <br />w7 <br />
