Barton, Finance Director <br />Subject: Closing of South Indian River County Water Taxing District Fund <br />We would like to close out the South Indian.River County Water Taxing District <br />Fund and transfer the remaining cash to the South County Water Plant Construction <br />Fund. , <br />rbcommend the following budget amendment be adopted to close out the Water <br />Taxing District.Fund and transfer the cash to the Construction Fund. <br />Account Number Account Title Increase P ----ease <br />113-000-389-40.00 Cash Forward Oct 1 101-642 <br />113-116-581-99.21 Fund Transfers Out 10,642 <br />421-000-381-20.00 Fund Transfers In 10,642 <br />421-230-533-66.51 Construction in Process 10,642 <br />MOTION WAS MADE by Commissioner Scurlock, <br />SECONDED by Commissioner Lyons, to approve <br />the above amendment necessary for closing <br />out the South County Water Taxing District <br />Fund. <br />Commissioner Scurlock's basic question involved his <br />philosophy re taking money in a district which now has been <br />expanded to a much larger area, i.e., you actually have taxed a <br />small number of people and the benefit is occurring to a larger <br />area. He agreed it would be too cumbersome to try to rebate this <br />money and just wished to express his concern for the record. <br />COMMISSIONER SCURLOCK CALLED FOR THE QUESTION. <br />It was voted on and carried unanimously. <br />C. Participation in State. Investment Pool <br />Assistant Finance Director Ed Fry informed the Board that <br />the State Board of Administration has established an investment <br />board in which the counties may participate; it is a matter of <br />5x PAr 7 <br />JAN 19 1983 <br />
