MOTION WAS MADE by Commissioner Lyons,
SECONDED by Commissioner Wodtke, that
the Board go on record as supporting the
Corps of Engineers project for beach
renourishment and request the Beach
Restoration & Preservation Committee
to come back to this Commission within
60 days with a formula for funding that
can be found acceptable by the Board of
County.Commissioners.
Further discussion ensued regarding the need to have
the City involved.
Frank Zorc addressed the Board, reading from the
minutes of a previous meeting of the. Board of County
Commissioners, which he felt demonstrated that the Board
had already agreed to do what they are proposing to do
today, and that it had been further indicated that no
commitment would be made until the County had full
information on a funding formula.
In the ensuing discussion, it was explained that the
Commission is not making a commitment today and will not
until the committee comes back with an acceptable funding
formula; they mainly are trying to bring this matter to a
head by stating that the Commission does support beach
renourishment, which was not stated in the previous Motion.
THE CHAIRMAN CALLED FOR THE QUESTION.
It was voted on and carried 4-1 with
Commissioner Fletcher voting in
opposition.
r
Further discussion followed on the subject of
beach renourishment.
29
FEB 2 1983
x 4 ?w f -A
I
