The South County situation seems to be pretty well <br />under control, but the North County -situation is a little <br />more difficult because of the way their dispatching system <br />is set up. The proposal now is that the South County Fire <br />District will dispatch to them on a plectron. They will <br />need about $800 worth of equipment to make this work, and <br />the North County Fire Advisory Committee is going to meet <br />and consider this possibility. <br />SEMINAR - FLORIDA SHORE & BEACH PRESERVATION ASSOC. <br />Commissioner Wodtke reported that the annual coastal <br />seminar of the Florida Shore & Beach Preservation <br />Association is going to be held March 30-31, 1983, at the <br />Gainesville Hilton Hotel, Gainesville, Florida. He would <br />like to attend and felt other Commissioners and staff should <br />be authorized to attend also. <br />Commissioner Lyons commented that he has attended these <br />seminars and found them to be very worthwhile. <br />I <br />ON MOTION.by Commissioner Lyons, SECONDED <br />by Commissioner Scurlock, the Board unani- <br />mo}sly authorized out -of -county travel for <br />Commissioners and appropriate members of <br />staff to attend the annual coastal seminar <br />41 <br />of the Florida shore & Beach Preservation <br />Association as above. <br />REPORT ON BEACH RESTORATION AND PRESERVATION COMMITTEE <br />Commissioner Wodtke reported that they did have a <br />meeting of the above committee and received some financial <br />information from County Finance Director Barton and City <br />Finance Director Nason, who had worked up some figures they <br />acquired from Property Appraiser Nolte relating to various <br />alternatives for funding beach restoration according to the <br />Army Corps plan.
