ORDINANCE 2012-017 <br />AN ORDINANCE OF INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, FLORIDA CONCERNING AMENDMENTS <br />TO ITS LAND DEVELOPMENT REGULATIONS (LDRs); PROVIDING FOR AMENDMENTS <br />TO CHAPTER 911, ACCESSORY USES AND STRUCTURES, BY AMENDING PORTIONS <br />OF SECTION 911.22, OTHER CORRIDORS SPECIAL DEVELOPMENT; AND BY <br />PROVIDING FOR REPEAL OF CONFLICTING PROVISIONS; CODIFICATION; <br />SEVERABILITY; AND EFFECTIVE DATE. <br />BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF INDIAN RIVER <br />COUNTY, FLORIDA THAT THE INDIAN RIVER COUNTY LAND DEVELOPMENT <br />REGULATIONS (LDRS) BE AMENDED AS FOLLOWS: <br />SECTION #1: <br />Amend LDR Section 911.22(1), 911.22(2), 911.22(3), and 911.22(8)(b) to read as follows: <br />(1) Purpose and intent. The overall purpose and intent of these regulations is to: <br />(a) Promote anttractive and inviting corridors that accommodates mass transit, <br />pedestrians, bicycles, and other transportation alternatives, as well as automobiles; <br />(b) Provide for a sufficient amount of attractive and well-maintained landscaping to <br />complement and enhance the visual quality of buildings, parking areas, and other <br />structures within the corridors; <br />(c) Encourage development of attractive buildings within the corridors; <br />(d) Ensure unobtrusive and orderly signage that avoids a garish and visually cluttered <br />appearance along the corridors; <br />(e) Encourage creative designs and buildings of quality that are articulated and presented <br />at a human scale; and <br />(f) Foster creative approaches that result in buildings of enduring character through use <br />of quality design and building materials; ate_ <br />(2) Boundaries of other corridors. The boundaries of the "other corridors" subject to <br />these regulations (911.24 - are defined as follows: <br />(a) All commercial/industrial, multi -family, and non-residential sites (excluding barns <br />and similar agricultural buildings) adjacent to the following roadway segments: <br />1. Oslo Road east of I-95. <br />2. "North" US Highway 1 between the Roseland Corridor and Wabasso <br />Corridor boundaries. <br />3.
