APR 6, 1983 aclo 53 Pav 7 <br />REQUEST FOR SPACE TO INSTALL FREEDOM SHRINE <br />Commissioner Wodtke explained that the Exchange Club of <br />America has been installing Freedom Shrines, which contain <br />important documents such as the Bill of Rights, etc., for 30 <br />years in such places as schools, libraries, and other public <br />buildings. He continued that he has been requested, on <br />behalf of the local Exchange Clubs, to ask the Board's <br />permission to install such a shrine in the new County <br />Administration Building. If possible, they would like this <br />installation to take place Tuesday, April 19th. <br />This is a joint project between both local Exchange Clubs. <br />Commissioner Scurlock felt this is a great idea as did <br />the other Board members. He suggested that it be coordi- <br />nated with the Administrator to determine an appropriate <br />location. <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Wodtke, SECONDED <br />by Commissioner Lyons, "the Board unanimously <br />granted permission for the Exchange Clubs to <br />install a Freedom Shrine in the County Admin- <br />istration Building as requested and authorized <br />the Administrator to work with a representative <br />of the Exchange Clubs to determine proper space <br />selection. <br />REQUEST BY HEDIN CONSTRUCTION FOR REIMBURSEMENT <br />Attorney Michael O'Haire referred to the following <br />letter and noted that Mr. Hedin, his client, has been <br />involved in a misunderstanding which has resulted in harm to <br />him. He ferlt Mr. Hedin could explain the particulars <br />involved. <br />
