He felt <br />it is very difficult to say no to such projects once they <br />are started and felt strongly that a Consumptive Use Permit <br />should be obtained first. He recommended a letter of <br />objection be sent to the water management district. <br />Commissioner Lyons reported he had personally written a <br />letter opposing the revision. <br />MOTION WAS MADE by Commissioner Lyons, <br />J <br />SECONDED by Commissioner Scurlock, to <br />authorize the Chairman to write to the <br />St. Johns River Water Management District , <br />Board indicating that the Commission opposes <br />the proposed rule revision and feels that the <br />District should not issue a permit for drill- <br />ing until they obtain sufficient information. <br />Commissioner Wodtke said he would like to talk with a <br />representative from the water management district to hear <br />some of the reasons why they are proposing these changes and <br />felt the Commission should request a special meeting on this <br />matter. <br />Commissioner Scurlock believed they are proposing this <br />change, -because of the timing involved in the developer <br />getting the consumptive use permit. He believed this is the <br />wrong way to go about it; he.wanted to object to it; and he <br />did not feel the need for additional information. <br />.y <br />The Chairman CALLED FOR THE QUESTION. <br />It was voted on and carried 3-2, with <br />Commissioner Wodtke and Chairman Bird <br />voting in opposition. <br />46 <br />APR_ 6 1983 <br />
