Highlights <br />include: <br />1) New revenue for the Department of Transportation averaging <br />$250 million annually. <br />2) Tough legislation enabling the Department to adequately deal. <br />with bid rigging on Florida road contracts. <br />3) Requirement of a perfoTmance audit of several significant <br />areas of the Department's operations. <br />4) Up to $220 million of new transportation revenues made <br />available annually to local governments upon vote of county commission. <br />The attached information will provide you the details of the <br />aforementioned tax -package. <br />Without your interest and supDort, such major accomplishments <br />would not have been achieved. Should you have any questions or need <br />additional information, please call on me or my staff. <br />In an effort to continue this progress, the committee would <br />appreciate your input on major transportation issues facing either <br />the State or local governments.
