Request to Rebid IRC Bid #165 - Weighing Control Device <br />The Board reviewed the following memo dated 4/26/83: <br />TO: Board of County Commissioners DATE: April 26, 1983 FILE: <br />i <br />THRU: Michael Wright SUBJECT: IRC BID #165 - Weighing Control <br />County Administrator Device with Printer for Landfill <br />Department. <br />FROM: Caroly Goodrich REFERENCES: <br />Purchasing Department <br />Manager <br />I. Description and Conditions <br />Bids were received April 19, 1983 at 11:00 A.M. for IRC BID #165- Weighing <br />Control Device with Printer for the Landfill Department. -'This will replace <br />equipment originally installed in 1978. <br />3 Bid Proposals were sent out, 3 were received. <br />2. Alternatives and Analysis <br />The low bid was submitted by The Scale Man, Davie, F1., Items 1 & 2 are manufac- <br />tured by Pennsylvania Scale Company. Item #3, the back up power supply is'a <br />Wilmore supplied by Southeastern Electronics, Inc. All equipment meets specifi- <br />cations. However, because the bid specifications did not specifically request <br />installation charge and time required for delivery of equipment, The Scale Man <br />bid did not include these items. Copy of follow up letter is attached stating <br />3 week delivery and installation charge of $492.00, making the Total Bid $4689.60. <br />The second low bid was submitted by Holzer & Co., West Palm Beach, for Toledo <br />Scale equipment. Total Bid $5326.00. All equipment meets specifications. <br />3. Recommendation and Funding <br />Staff recommends the specs for IRC #165 be clarified and these items be re -bid. <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Scurlock, <br />SECONDED by Commissioner Wodtke, the <br />Board unanimously authorized staff to <br />rebid IRC Bid #165, Weighing Control <br />Device with Printer for Landfill Dept. <br />14 <br />s <br />
