He wished to know if <br />this would affect the county in any way. <br />Attorney Brandenburg felt the only way this could <br />possibly affect the county would be if the property had <br />reverted and the county still let the groups use the <br />facilities and someone were injured. He reiterated that he <br />left the relationship between the two groups strictly up to <br />them. <br />Discussion ensued regarding the importance of keeping <br />this moving along, and Attorney Brandenburg expressed the <br />hope that this transfer can be formalized by either the <br />first or second meeting in June. <br />REPORT ON TADDIE CONSTRUCTION CASE <br />Assistant County Attorney Chris Paull explained that <br />this lawsuit has been underway for the last nine months and <br />negotiations have been carried on for the last three days; <br />about ten parties were involved and it is difficult to get <br />anything agreed upon. Foote Brothers was a sub -contractor <br />on the Airport West construction job, and they have left the <br />Landfill holding about $2,500 of unpaid fees. What it boils <br />down to is that our -facts in this case are not particularly <br />strong to prevail against the bonding company; secondly, the <br />other lawsuit is against the general contractor, Taddie, who <br />claims that Foote was an independent contractor and solely <br />liable. They have offered .to settle the lawsuit for 50� on <br />the dollar.
