r JUN 1 1983 <br />80o,. 5 ';a;F.,9 <br />Commissioner Scurlock felt the largest assessment to be <br />made is the impact of this program on our basic rendering of <br />services -- we already have utility services planned. <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Scurlock, <br />SECONDED by Commissioner Bowman, the <br />Board unanimously approved the composition <br />of the ad hoc committee as discussed, one <br />representative to be appointed by the Town <br />of Orchid, one by the Town of Indian River <br />/ <br />Shores, one by theCity of Vero Beach, and <br />letters to be sent out indicating the <br />composition of the committee and asking <br />them to be ready to meet in the next week. <br />Chairman Bird noted that the Hutchinson Island Resource <br />Planning & Management Committee is meeting at the College in <br />Fort Pierce tomorrow, June 2nd, and he noted that at the <br />last meeting we indicated we would ask the Governor and the <br />committee to release us from the committee, but it was not <br />set out�very.clearly just how we would do this. <br />It was agreed that Chairman Bird should read that <br />statement from the last meeting, requesting to be released <br />from the Committee, and asking for an extension of time, as <br />well as informing the Committee of the action we are taking <br />with formation of an ad hoc committee, etc. <br />Commissioner Scurlock felt there were four basic items: <br />(1) Request to be removed from the Committee. <br />(2) If they won't do that, then indicate we would be <br />happy to participate as a member. <br />(3) Indicate we do not want to be designated as an <br />area of critical concern. <br />(4) Request an extension of time to allow for further <br />consideration and study. <br />M <br />
