s � � <br />Some discussion ensued re the problems involved with <br />putting collars on cats and hunting dogs, and Attorney Paull <br />stated that the committee weighed this question and it was <br />their opinion the advantage of identification outweighed the <br />other problems. He noted that tags can be attached in <br />various ways so they do not make a noise or get caught in <br />underbrush. <br />Commissioner Lyons emphasized that the committee's main <br />concern is to have the animal vaccinated and licensed and <br />proof shown that this has been done. <br />Chairman Bird asked if vaccination is an annual <br />requirement, and Commissioner Lyons stated that it is, and <br />he believed it will cost about $8.00; the license fee varies <br />according to whether the animal is sterilized or not. <br />The Chairman asked if anyone -present wished to be <br />heard. <br />Billy Harp raised questions regarding an instance when <br />an animal intrudes on your property and wished to know <br />whether or not you would have the right to catch such an <br />animal and hold it in your yard as proof of your complaint. <br />He did not feel the Ordinance explains what to do in this <br />situation. <br />Commissioner Lyons stated that if the animal is in your <br />yard and you haven't given permission for it to be there, it <br />is in violation, and Deputy Sheriff Mike Lingerfeld stated <br />that if an animal comes onto your property, you have every <br />legal right to hold the animal there. <br />Mr. Harp asked what to do if someone harrasses you for <br />reporting their animal - he has had broken lights, etc. <br />Lieut.
