RESOLUTION 99_ 06 <br />A RESOLUTION OF INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, FLORIDA <br />AUTHORIZING COUNTY STAFF TO SUBMIT A FLORIDA <br />DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION (FDOT) HIGHWAY <br />BEAUTIFICATION GRANT APPLICATION, AND IN THE EVENT <br />OF A GRANT AWARD TO ENTER INTO A HIGHWAY <br />BEAUTIFICATION GRANT MEMORANDUM OF AGREEMENT <br />AND TO ENTER INTO A HIGHWAY LANDSCAPING <br />MAINTENANCE MEMORANDUM OF AGREEMENT. <br />WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Indian River County is interested in <br />carrying out the following described project for the enjoyment of the citizenry of Indian River County, <br />and the State of Florida: <br />Project Title Wabasso Causeway Park Improvements <br />Total Estimated Cost: $527,066.66 <br />Brief Description of Project: Shoreline stabilization, restroom building with water <br />and sewer services, reshaping of parking areas, <br />stormwater management, and landscaping along the <br />shoreline. <br />WHEREAS, it is desirable that certain roadside areas within Florida Department of <br />Transportation rights-of-way be maintained and attractively landscaped. <br />WHEREAS, Wabasso Causeway Park lies completely within the boundaries of SR 510. <br />WHEREAS, Florida Department of Transportation's financial assistance is required for this <br />project. <br />NOW THEREFORE, be it resolved by the Board of County Commissioners that County staff <br />are hereby authorized to apply for funding under the Florida Department of Transportation Highway <br />Beautification Grant Program, in the amount of the actual cost of the landscaping for Wabasso <br />Causeway Park. <br />AND, be it further resolved that County staff are authorized in the event of a grant award, to <br />enter into both a Highway Beautification Grant Memorandum of Agreement and a Highway <br />Landscaping Maintenance Memorandum of Agreement between the County and the State of Florida <br />Department of Transportation. <br />AND, that County staff are hereby authorized to release certified copies of this Resolution for <br />inclusion into the Grant Application to submitted on behalf of the County to the Department of <br />Transportation. <br />
