JUL 6 1993��;� <br />Public Works Director Davis explained that the <br />contractor that was awarded the the bid for the construction <br />of Division I — Improvements to the Tracking Station Park - <br />was requesting the substitution of a Cash Bond in lieu of a <br />Surety Bond to cover the performance of the Contract. The <br />reasoning of the contractor, J. B. Walker Construction, <br />Inc., is that his company did not have a good 1982, but that <br />it remains a good.company and is still solvent. Director <br />Davis explained that the contractor is just requesting at <br />this time to submit a Cash Bond in lieu of a Surety Bond to <br />cover the performance of the Contract. <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Scurlock, <br />SECONDED by Commissioner Lyons, the <br />Board unanimously approved the staff.recom- <br />mendations as outlined in the memo to the <br />Board dated 6/28/83, which has 4 conditions, <br />and adopted Resolution 83-50 authorizing a <br />cash bond. <br />Director Davis reported that things are coming along <br />very nicely at the Tracking Station Park and invited the <br />Commissioners to stop by and take a look. <br />
