Wednesday, July 20, 1983 <br />The Board of County Commissioners of Indian River <br />County, Florida met in Regular Session at the County <br />Commission Chambers, 1840 25th Street, Vero Beach, Florida, <br />on Wednesday, July 20, 1983, at 8:30 o'clock A.M. Present <br />were. Don C. Scurlock, Jr., Vice Chairman; Margaret C. <br />Bowman, Patrick B. Lyons, and William C. Wodtke, Jr. <br />Chairman Richard N. Bird was delayed and not in attendance <br />for the first forty-five minutes of the meeting. Also <br />present were Michael J. Wright, County Administrator; L.S. <br />"Tommy" Thomas, Community Services Director; Gary <br />Brandenburg, Attorney to the Board of County Commissioners; <br />Jeffrey K. Barton, Budget Director; Barbara Bonnah and <br />Virginia Hargreaves, Deputy Clerks. <br />Vice Chairman Scurlock asked that we observe a moment <br />of silent meditation in memory of County Civil Defense <br />employee, Robert Cushman, whose funeral was being held this <br />afternoon. <br />Vice Chairman Scurlock led the Pledge of Allegiance to <br />the Flag. <br />DELETIONS FROM THE AGENDA <br />Budget Director Jeffrey Barton requested the deletion <br />from the Agenda of Item 7-A, Resolution Authorizing Budget <br />Officer to Place Excess Funds in Investments. <br />Administrator Michael Wright requested the deletion <br />from the Agenda of Item 18-A, Beatty Minor Site Plan Appeal. <br />He explained that he had received a wire from Mr. Beatty <br />asking that the Public Hearing be postponed to a later date <br />with a time certain set.
