JUL 2 0 1983 ac <br />(c) be located on one side of the street <br />(d) be separated from the street pavement by a ten <br />(10) foot wide safety strip (minimum); if <br />protected by curb and gutter, they shall be <br />separated by at least six (6) feet <br />(e) have a curb cut and ramp at least six (6) feet <br />wide at all intersections <br />(f) be constructed in accordance with the "Bicycle <br />Facilities Planning and Design Manual) (1982 <br />Revision) prepared by the Florida Department of <br />Transportation. <br />3) Alternative Specifications. Where any of the above <br />specifications are impractical or impossible to implement, the <br />applicant, with the approval of the Board, may substitute suitable <br />alternative specifications described in the referenced Design <br />Manual. <br />4) Identification. Bikeways shall be posted or <br />identified by permanent markings as follows: <br />Area Characteristics <br />Commercial <br />Sign Placement, Pavement <br />Marking Criteria <br />At each intersecting <br />street and thereafter <br />every 500 feet <br />Residential At each street intersection <br />and thereafter every <br />1000 feet <br />Rural At each street intersection <br />and thereafter every <br />2000 feet <br />5) Construction Prior to Final Inspection. Bikeways <br />shall be installed prior to final inspection of the subdivision <br />improvements. The Board shall have the discretion to grant the <br />applicant a two (2) year period after final inspection of subdivi- <br />sion improvements to construct bikeways if the applicant posts <br />construction security in the amount of one hundred fifteen (115) <br />percent of the construction costs. <br />E. Sidewalks <br />1) Locations. Sidewalks shall be provided on one side <br />of all arterial and collector streets and school access routes, <br />and both sides of minor and marginal access streets located within <br />-54- <br />
