JUL 20 10"03 <br />the park fronting on Kings Highway owned by CIBA-Geigy <br />Corporation. <br />54 -PAC. <br />1 <br />Mr. Thomas explained that investigation has determined that <br />this is an international conglomerate, and the local <br />representative is James Counselman. He felt Al MacAdam of Indian <br />River Shores may have some contact with the corporate level and <br />will pursue the possibility of a donation. <br />4. Extension of Dock at Sebastian Yacht Club <br />Chairman Bird informed the Board that we have had a request <br />to extend the dock located at the Sebastian Yacht Club, which <br />dock is used by all County residents. <br />Mr. Thomas reported that they have a double ramp. Over the <br />years the original has become in very bad shape and the base is <br />going to have to be replaced. The City of Sebastian has been <br />working on this through Lloyd & Associates, who is recommending <br />extension of two docks, but there seems to be a difference of <br />opinion. Mr. Thomas believed the Parks & Recreation Committee <br />came up with recommendation to approve funds on this project not <br />to exceed $18,000, subject to funds being available from the <br />Boating Trust Fund. <br />Chairman Bird stated that Mr. Thomas and Mr. Finney will get <br />additional cost estimates and come back to the Board with a <br />recommendation. <br />Mr. Thomas asked for an indication that the Board has no <br />objection to their proceeding on that basis. He noted this is a <br />heavily used boat ramp. <br />The Board had no objections. <br />AGREE14ENT WITH INDIAN RIVER SHORES RE AMBULANCE SQUAD <br />Commissioner Lyons commented that the Ambulance Squad has a <br />verbal agreement with Indian River shores in which Indian River <br />Shores has agreed to cover the area from north of the City limits <br />to the Sebastian Inlet on the Barrier Island as primary responder <br />for ambulance cases. They also have a mutual aid arrangement; <br />however, Commissioner Lyons felt the written agreement is <br />66 <br />
