Article 4. PROGRESS PA' T'S - The County will make partial payment <br />during the progress of the work as approved by the County <br />Engineer. <br />Article 5. ACCEPTANCE AND FINAL PASS: Upon receipt of written <br />notice that the work is ready for final inspection and <br />acceptance, the County Engineer will promptly make such <br />inspection and when he finds the work acceptable under the <br />terms of the Contract and the Contract fully performed, he <br />will promptly issue a final certificate, over his own signa- <br />ture, stating that the work provided for in this Contract <br />has been completed, and acceptance by him under the terms <br />and the conditions thereof is recommends and the entire <br />balance found to be due the Contractor, will be paid to <br />the Contractor by the County following County Commission <br />approval of the final Contract payment. <br />Prior to final acceptance by the Engineer, the Contractor <br />shall verify, in the Engineer's presence, that all <br />valving, pumps, Piping, equipment, etc. perform their <br />proper task or function in the manner in which they were <br />intended. In general, the Contractor shall verify by the <br />use of dye tests and/or other methods acceptable: to the <br />Engineer, that all pipes receive and discharge flow at the <br />proper locations and in the proper quantities. All valves <br />shall be tested and the proper operation of each shall be <br />verified. PLmping tests shall be performed on all pumps to <br />insure they will pump the quantities called for in to <br />Specifications. The operation of all o'Liher e4u_lpmeWL, <br />fittings, etc. which are necessary for -che prover fuwl.ion- <br />ing of the facility shall be tested. Any pipes, valves, <br />equipment, etc. that fails or is found to be improperly <br />placed or in any way does not perform as the design in'cended <br />shall be completely corrected by the Contractor at the <br />Contractor's expense. Such piping, valves, equipment, <br />etc., shall then be retested by the Contractor in the pres- <br />ence of the Engineer, until it is accepted by the Engineer. <br />Issuance of final acceptance will not be made until all <br />Piping, valves, equipment, etc., have been approved by the <br />Engineer. <br />Before issuance of final certificate, the Contractor <br />shall submit evidence satisfactory to the County Engineer <br />that all payrolls, material bills, and other indebtedness <br />connected with the work have been paid. An affidavit <br />must be submitted by the Contractor to the County <br />Engineer stating that all indebtedness connected with the <br />work has been paid. Such affidavit will be signed by a <br />duly authorized officer of the contracting firm, will <br />bear the firm's seal, and will be notarized and attested <br />by two witnesses.
