County Commissions for their approval before being submitted <br />to the District Board. <br />Commissioner Wodtke reported he received a letter from <br />Mr. Paul R. Beatrice, Executor Director of the District <br />Health Board, indicating he would address these items in <br />their Board 'meeting of August 24th. Mr. Beatrice stated in <br />the letter, "This will provide us.with time to submit our <br />actions to the task force by 9/1/83." <br />Commissioner Wodtke attended the most recent Board <br />meeting and the Board voted to send $46,000 to the catchment <br />area in the northern four counties the Indian River <br />County Medical Health Center in Ft. Pierce. However, the <br />money will not relieve the shortage of psychiatric beds, but <br />came with the stipulation that it be. used to hire one part-time <br />psychiatrist, two counselors and a part-time secretary. <br />Commissioner Wodtke was concerned that the District <br />Board is still not convinced that there is a shortage of <br />beds in the four northern counties, and he does not under- <br />stand this as every report shows this shortage does exist. <br />He reported that Attorney Brandenburg had suggested that the <br />Board thoroughly investigate to determine if the County of <br />Palm Beach had more beds than they need. <br />Attorney Brandenburg has set up a meeting in the four <br />county area with the county attorneys to cover the legal <br />aspect of the District Plan. <br />Another issue is the Board indicated that the setting <br />of priorities of goals in the District Plan will depend upon <br />the legislature making additional funds available, and <br />unless there was a policy change, they were not going to <br />look into the funding that they have to try to reach the <br />goals. <br />Commissioner Wodtke reported that Attorney Brandenburg <br />had set up a meeting in the four county area with the three <br />64 <br />AUG 3 193 eoa `F ryz 52 <br />
