REQUEST BY HELENE HOLDING COMPANY RE POSSIBLE AMENDMENT OF THE <br />COMPREHENSIVE PLAN <br />The Board considered the following request from Helene <br />Holding Company: <br />HELENE HOLDING COMPANY <br />915 South Riverside Drive <br />Indialantic, Florida 32903 <br />August 24, 1983 <br />Mr. Dick Bird, Chairman <br />Indian River County Commission <br />1840 - 25th Street _ <br />Vero Beach, FL 32960 - <br />Dear Commissioner Bird: <br />The Helene Holding Company has contracted to purchase 100 acres of land <br />located the northeast corner of I-95 and SR 512. <br />We hereby request you consider a re -designation of the Comprehensive Land <br />Use Plan and re -zoning of this property in order for us to construct a 50,000 <br />square foot electronics manufacturing facility. <br />Your special consideration is appreciated as we were not aware of ceuY ent <br />existing deadline -on the Comprehensive Land Use Plan. <br />We plan to proceed on the construction of the facility as soon as possible. <br />Respectfully yours, <br />vG� <br />Robert J. Byer <br />Planning Manager Keating informed the Board that there is an <br />existing 150 acre commercial node in this location. Until staff <br />has an opportunity to do a complete analysis, it is not known <br />whether the node would have to be enlarged, but it would have to <br />go through the amendment process to be redesignated commercial/ <br />industrial and the subject property would have to be rezoned to <br />M-1 to allow for the anticipated use.
