PIP— <br />SEP 21 <br />1983 <br />D. <br />Execution of Traffic Sianal Ifaintenance Agreement <br />The Board reviewed the following memo dated 9/14/63: <br />TO: The Honorable Members of the DATE: September 14, 1983 FILE: <br />Board of County Commissioners <br />THROUGH: Michael Wright, <br />County Administrator <br />SUBJECT: Traffic Signal :Maintenance Agreement <br />with the City of Sebastian <br />FROM: Michael L. Orr, REFERENCES: <br />Traffic Engineer <br />DESCRIPTION ANTD CONDITIONS <br />On February 2, 1983 the Board adopted a "Traffic Signal Jurisdiction and <br />Maintenance Policy" which assigned the responsibility of traffic signal <br />maintenance to various governmental entities within Indian River County. This <br />Policy transfered maintenance responsibility for the signal at Main Street/U.S. 1 <br />from Indian River County to the City of Sebastian. <br />To execute maintenance of the signal at Main Street/U.S. 1, the City of Sebastian <br />has requested the Indian River County Public Works Division to provide maintenance <br />for the signal and has signed the subject agreement prepared by the County. <br />ALTER.KATIVES AND ANALYSIS <br />A. Provide traffic signal maintenance services to the City of Sebastian in <br />accordance with the terms and conditions set forth by authorizing the <br />Chairman, Board of County Commissioners, -to sign the attached subject <br />agreement. Maintenance work can be accomplished by the Public Works <br />Division with no reduction in County services. Cost of materials for <br />repair will need to be fronted by the County and will be billed periodically <br />with labor and equipment charges to the City of Sebastian. <br />B. Deny traffic signal maintenance services to the City of Sebastian. <br />REC01'vNENDATIONT AND FUNDING Y <br />Alternative "A" is recommended The Public Works Division can provide the City <br />of Sebastian traffic signal maintenance services at a reasonable -ost without <br />a reduction in County services. <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Scurlock, <br />SECONDED by Commissioner Bowman, the Board <br />unanimously approved Alternate A to provide <br />traffic signal maintenance services to the <br />City o= Sebastian, as recommended by staff. <br />1G <br />1 <br />
