Leave the actual parking places in grass, as degradation <br />usually takes place in the aisles. <br />Tom Culler, Construction Industry Management Council, <br />stated he was in attendance in the workshops and felt that <br />the proposed ordinance is a good one, although some items .in <br />it should be readdressed in a few months when we go through <br />with the new zoning ordinance. <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Lyons, <br />SECONDED by Commissioner Scurlock, the <br />Board unanimously closed the Public Hearing. <br />MOTION WAS 14ADE by Commissioner Lyons,. <br />SECONDED by Commissioner Scurlock, that the <br />Board adopt Ordinance 83-30 amending Section 24 <br />of the County Zoning Code governing off-street <br />parking and loading regulations, with the <br />understanding that the matters of grass <br />parking and aisle widths re right angle and <br />parallel parking will be brought back to the Board <br />under the new zoning ordinance; and that the <br />ordinance is to specify a parallel parking space <br />as 23` x 8' and to include the convalescent home <br />parking standards suggested by Mr. Cook. <br />Commissioner Bowman objected to grass parking under <br />trees because the ground gets so compacted that it <br />eventually kills the trees.
